The Forgetting Pill

"I have a feeling I might be getting my pills mixed up. I'm sure I was pregnant yesterday. And I kinda get the feeling I'd decided to keep the baby. Today, I'm not."

"Oh honey, we've been trying for months"

"I know, I should feel real sorry right now, but I just took some prozac an hour ago when I should have taken the valium and I'm just happily depressed."

"Does it hurt?"

"No. I think I took valium instead of that crocin you keep in the cupboard. I'm all numb but my head's throbbing."

"Come let's put you to bed. I'll tuck you in."

"I've already downed 3 of your sleeping pills. I can't sleep. Or was that viagra?"

"Oh god. Tell me you didn't take the forgetting pill-"

"I can't remember. I think that's how it started in the first place. I must've taken the forgetting pill instead of the pregnancy pill."

"And then you took the pregnancy pill anyway?"

"Yes! I forgot we were trying to get pregnant!"

"(exasperation) At least you're all right...What did you learn from this?"

"I learned not to do it again"

"And what did you do?"

"Fuck if I know!"
